GUIDED TOUR OF THE ESCORNALBOU CASTLE AND MONASTERY
The Escornalbou Convent is a peculiar early 20th century stately home made up of the remains of the medieval Sant Miquel convent (Romanesque church and cloister) and the remains of a castle that was converted into a mansion and bourgeois residence. An incomparable panoramic garden with the best views of the Camp de Tarragona.
The majority of the visit takes place in the rooms of the wealthy home of Eduard Toda, who lived at the beginning of the 20th century and travelled the world, visiting Hong Kong, Macao, Egypt, etc., leaving behind a number of objects that can be seen in the different rooms. On the ground floor we find the dining room, the pottery room, the wine cellar and the remains of the medieval convent. On the first floor we find the men’s wing with the magnificent library, Mr Toda’s office, several bedrooms and rooms. And on the first floor are the women’s bedrooms.
